When you just have to pickup someone up from terminals, you don’t have to circle around the airport. There is a waiting lot called Park & Call, which allows 30 minutes free parking.

Every 20 minutes from 5:00 AM – 2:00 AM. There’s a walking route to the terminals outside of those times.
You can pay at the exit if you pull up to the kiosk and talk to parking staff. There also is a “Credit Card In and Out” process. You just have to insert (the same) credit card when you enter and leave.
If you want to fly out from the Bay area, it highly depends where you are located and where you want to fly. Some direct flights are only possible on only one of both airports and there are differences in prices. Whenever there are possibilites for your destination on both airports, maybe the departure time is the deciding factor.
